Jenny Bushrod, Chair of AUPO
Head of Procurement, University of Plymouth
The Association of University Procurement Officers was founded in 1986 to promote the exchange of ideas and development of best practice to support a growing number of staff, relatively few of whom were professionally qualified, who found themselves working in a purchasing function in the university sector.
Over the past twenty years, with much effort from dedicated members, AUPO has developed into the Professional Association that we know today with over 400 members in both the higher and further education sectors, the vast majority of whom are now CIPS professionals.
AUPO's role is to be a vehicle for the exchange of ideas, good practice and networking, seeking to promote the profession in the sector and to represent its members on the many and various procurement agendas across and beyond the HE/FE sector.
